Mary Lorraine Griffin Demars passed away on the evening of Thursday, April 12, 2007 in Salt Lake City surrounded by her family. She was 76 years old.
Lorraine was born in Ogden on August 7,1930, to Howard S. and Mary LaVern Griffin. She was the second of two children. Lorraine received a bachelor's degree in Business Education from BYU. She married Lorenzo C. Demars of Brigham City, Utah on June 18, 1952, in the Logan LDS Temple. Lorenzo and Lorraine had seven children: Howard Griffin (Monica) Demars of Sandy, Ronald Ellis (Diane) Demars of Smithfield, Mary LaVern (Ryan) Seager of Logan, Linda Lorraine Demars of Logan, Carol ReNee Demars of Salt Lake City, Debra Ann Demars of Logan, and Merlin Lorenzo Demars of Logan.
Lorraine was a woman of noble character who lived a quiet life devoted to her family. She will be remembered for her kindness and compassion. Lorraine is survived by her seven children, four grandchildren, Carrie (Bryan), Hunter, Juliet, and Ryan, and two great-grandchildren, Kira and Naomi, with another expected. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, her brother Merlin H. Griffin, and her parents.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 17, at the LDS 13th Ward chapel, 195 South 100 East, in Logan. Family and friends may call Monday evening, April 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, in Logan and at the church from 10:30 to 11 :45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
