Mary Petersen Olsen

February 26, 1916 — November 28, 2005

Mary Petersen Olsen passed away at age 89 at Terrace Grove in Logan, Utah on November 28,2005.
She was born on February 26, 1916, the second of eight children of Oliver L. Petersen and Neveva Haws Petersen. She was married to N. Melvin Olsen on December 1, 1938. They had three children: Ruth (Al (Steve)) Winterholler of Boise, Idaho, John (Cynthia) Olsen of River Heights, Utah, and Todd (Kelly) Olsen of Logan, Utah. She had six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her great grandchildren always referred to her as "Grandma Great" because she was very special to them.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. We all loved being around her and she was a great strength to us. She had an immaculate home and was a very good cook. We always were welcome in her home and loved to be there. She always put others needs before her own.
During her lifetime she enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing and traveling. She made many beautiful crewel embroidery pictures for friends and family that are treasures to all of us. When she was younger she helped a great deal around their farm in Petersboro, taught mutual classes and was active in Daughters of the Pioneers. Before she was married, she worked for Logan Knitting Mills and Mode 0 Day and even modeled some of their clothing.

Mom, we love you and will always remember you.

Our special thanks to Terrace Grove, Hospice, and the many special nurses and CNA's for over 8 years of loving care given to Mom. Their love and service has been wonderful.

Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 30 at Logan Cemetery. Friends may call at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St, Logan Tuesday November 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday November 30 from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net .
