Husband, Father, Grandpa, and friend; Maurice Eugene McCarron returned to the open arms of his Father in Heaven on March 22, 2010.
His journey began January 16, 1925 in Sierra Madre California , to Lewis Henry McCarron and Lela Gladys Quick. He was born at home on a library table built by his father. Maurice was the oldest of two, his loving sister June had the joy of being born in a hospital on June 2, 1927. He thought she was the “Bee’s Knees” until she could walk and get into his stuff. He loved his sister dearly and for her (just as for everyone in his family) he would have gone to the ends of the earth to protect her.
Maurice was very proud of his Irish heritage and made it a point to teach all of us where we came from. His love for Ireland flows through each of us - a wonderful reminder of his loyalty and love for all of his family.
Among all of his amazing accomplishments, the things he was most proud of were his family, his service in the military, and his support of the NRA. He loved to fly and was a pilot for many years.
He served his country in the Navy during WWII. We could not be more proud of his love for this country and his willingness to protect not just his family, but anyone who has ever called themselves an American.
Maurice is survived by his wife Sarah. In Kingman , Arizona on December 26, 1952 he married Sarah Ann Farmer. She is the one true love of his life. He said his love for her “…will last for all the eons of eternity.” Sarah says, “I love you the most”. Through their fifty-seven year marriage they raised seven children. Harold Eugene McCarron and Shannon Kay McCarron went before him and waited to embrace him as he came home. His surviving children, Bonnie Jean McCarron Purbaugh, Michael Jeffery McCarron, Patrick Stephen McCarron, Rebecca Ann Murphy McCarron Greenhalgh, and Karen Kathleen McCarron Rodeback continue to carry his love with them as they face each day. We love you Dad - Gobbie-Gobbies.
