Melroy Darley Maughan passed away Sept. 17, 2015. Melroy was born May 1, 1954, to Robert Nielsen Maughan and Vonda Darley Maughan. As a child he spent most of his time outdoors working and playing. Mel worked as a maintenance man, machinist and electrician for several companies in Cache Valley, with most of the years being at Tri Miller Packing Company. He became disabled due to a massive stroke Sept. 12, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Gwynn Maughan, of Hyrum, his son Neal (Melanie) Maughan, Hyrum, his daughters Brandy (Mike) Anderson, Nibley, and Heather Maughan (Andrew Wiseman) of Mildmay, Ontario; five grandchildren, Vonda Michelle and Mason of Nibley, and Brooke, Hailey and Robert of Hyrum. Also survived by, a sister Marie Harward, Bountiful, and a brother Dallin, Paradise. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (Bobby, Terry, Duane) and a sister (Maylene), and his father-in-law (Mack Wilkes Brown) and mother-in-law (Valeen Brown Rawlings).
A special thanks to Dr. Robert Nash, and the IHC Hospice staff for all their care. Also a big thanks to the Meals on Wheels volunteers for delivering lunches and interacting with him.
