Melva LaRee Richards Brown

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, climbed the stairway to heaven to be with our father on May 30, 2011.

LaRee was born on July 29, 1928 to Mahonri and Arva Richards in Mendon, Utah. She was the second child of six girls.

She met and waited for Robert (Junior) Brown while he was serving his county, was married on December 6, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple where they made their home in Wellsville.

She worked side by side on the family farm for many years, also as a waitress and at the Clearfield Cheese Company in Wellsville.
She was active in the LDS church holding various callings, mainly the librarian,
but the calling she loved the most was serving in the Logan LDS Temple.

She is survived by her children: Gary (Pat) Brown, Perry Utah; Von (Pat) Brown, Newton, Utah; Robert Lynn (Cookie) Brown, Kenniwick, Washington; Marsha (Roger) Clark, Fielding, Utah; Kaylene (Jack) Cunningham, Ogden, Utah; Diana (Darrell) Cowley, Wellsville, Utah. 25 Grandchildren, 55 Great Grandchildren,
3 Great, Great Grandchildren and 4 sisters.

LaRee was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Junior Brown; her parents, Mahonri and Arva Richards; one sister, Leola, two grandsons, Shawn Brown and Tyson Pearce, and 1 great-great grandson, Kamdyn Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 3, 2011 in the Wellsville 3rd Ward Chapel, 49 West 200 South in Wellsville. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, and prior to the services at the church on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the Wellsville City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net

The family would like to thank Inspiration Hospice and the Ogden Regional Hospital Medical Ward for the compassion and care of our mother.
