Melvin Joseph “Bud” Conlon, 94, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Pioneer Valley Lodge.
“Bud” was born on July 17, 1922 in Gretinger, Iowa to Joseph Elmer and Blanch Rapp Conlon. He was the youngest of four children. He married El'Louise Miller in 1944. Together they had four children. Their marriage ended in 1970. He later married Dorothy Reese in 1972. Dorothy passed away in July of 2003.
He enjoyed cooking and yard work. He also enjoyed being with the neighborhood children. When they came to visit, candy was always available. They would help themselves to the “candy drawer”. When he was able, he would make little bags of M & M’s for the children in the LDS Church down the street. He enjoyed listening to his great-grandchildren sing and eating ice cream with them.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and also a member of the Logan Golf and Country Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents; his brothers, Arnold and Irvin; and a sister, Irene. He is survived by his previous wife, El'Louise of Evanston, WY; children, Cindy (Jerry) Sage of Bear River, WY; Mike Conlon of Magna, UT; Nancy (Pat) Branch of Evanston, WY; and Jim (Laurie) Conlon of Salt Lake City, UT. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
