Melvin Jardine Thompson

January 19, 1934 — June 18, 2023

Melvin Jardine Thompson passed away after a short illness on Sunday, June 18, 2023. He was born in Clarkston, Utah, on January 19, 1934, to Kenneth and Peru Jardine Thompson and was the last of six children. He grew up in Clarkston, and we grin at all the fun memories he’s shared with us about his younger years. After returning from an LDS mission in 1956, he married Lila Hoth in the Logan Temple. He worked for Thiokol and later DeLorean Manufacturing Company for most of his employment years. Dad was a hard worker, expected perfection with his yard, and grew beautiful flowers yearly.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Rex (Edna) and Joe (Norma) Thompson and sisters Faye (Verl) Godfrey, Electa (Don) Nelson, and Sylvia (Dale) Hansen. He was also preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Melissa. He is survived by his wife Lila, sons Brian (Christi) and Darwin Thompson, and daughter Teresa (Jeff) Seeholzer, eight grandchildren (Jessica, Alex, Ian, Emily, Joshua, Autumn, Jake, and Kendal), along with 15 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Logan Cemetery (North section near 1000 N). Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Funeral Services will be live streamed, and a link can be found on his obituary page at www.allenmortuaries.com
