Our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Merlin Lorenzo Demars, passed from this life on Saturday, November 2, 2013. He was 41 years old and died on what would have been his father’s 91st birthday. What a gift that must have been for his father, mother, and all who passed before him to embrace him on the other side and to receive him safely home.
Merlin was loved and will be missed by many. Included among them are his six brothers and sisters: Howard (Monica) Demars of Sandy, Ron (Diane) Demars of Smithfield, Mary (Ryan) Seager of Brigham City, Linda Demars of Logan, Carol Demars (Mayra Villamar) of Cottonwood Heights and Debbie Demars (Dan Wilkinson) of Logan; four nieces and nephews (Carrie Stone of LaVerkin, Hunter and Juliet Demars of Sandy and Ryan Demars of Smithfield); and four great-nieces and nephew (Kira Brown, Naomi Wallace and Johnathan and Elizabeth Best of LaVerkin). He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Lorraine Demars.
Merlin graduated from Logan High School in 1990 and attended some classes at Utah State University. He was married to and later divorced from Janet Cooper of Wellsville. He worked a majority of his employable years at Tyco in Logan and was highly valued for his endeavors as an assembly-line worker, supervisor, and certified CAM operator. In addition, Merlin was a very talented artist and musician. He drew beautifully, and his singing and guitar and banjo playing were a delight to hear. Merlin was a gentle, sweet, kind and generous person. It was a privilege to be associated with him, to receive his hugs and expressions of “I love you.”
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in the Logan 13th Ward Chapel, 195 South 100 East in Logan.
