October 7, 1918 — August 10, 2005

Merrill R. Burrell (Med)

On August 10, 2005 we lost our dad, grandpa great-
grandpa, and best friend.

Born on October 7, 1918 to Alonzo and Elizabeth
Burrell. On February 18, 1938 he was married to Dora
Leishman and later was solemnized in the Logan LDS
Temple. They made their home in Paradise where they
spent sixty-one wonderful years. Merrill was raised in
the canyon, logging with his father. He then spent
thirty-five years working for the Cache County Road
Department. Merrill was a member of the LDS church and
served in many positions. His greatest delights in
life were his grand children and great grand children.
Merrill and Dora had five children. Four girls and a
boy.

He is survived by Alona (Danny) Jones of Paradise,
Marilyn Brown of Hyrum. Terri (Jay) Horsley of Ogden
and Kim (Kim) Burrell of Paradise. Fourteen grand
children, twenty-nine great grand children, and three
great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dora, his brother
Owen, a sister Mattie Jeppson and daughter Sherian
Olsen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15 at
12:00 in the old Paradise LDS church. Viewings will be
held Sunday, August 14, between 6:00 and 8:00 on at
Allen Hall Mortuary (34 E. Center Logan.) and at 10:30
to 11 :45 at the church on Monday prior to the
services. Condolences may be sent to the family and a
video tribute viewed at www.allenmortuaries.net . We
loved him very much and he will be greatly missed.
