Michael Eugene Devenport, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, suddenly passed away at the age of 51 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 12, 1963 in Provo, Utah at the Utah Valley Hospital to Eugene Clarke Devenport and Vivi-Ann Sandgren.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a full-time mission in Seville, Spain.. Following his mission, he attended BYU Hawaii and then BYU where he met Carol Christianson. They were sealed to each other for time and all eternity on June 24, 1988 in the temple in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Michael graduated at Utah State with bachelor and master’s degrees. He worked as an Echocardiographer at Logan Regional Hospital, and as an adjunct professor at Weber State University.
Michael liked photography, played the guitar and loved music. He loved his family. He was the most happy when he made people smile or laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, his children: Jordan (Jessica), Nicholas (Bree), Tyler, and Sommer, and his brothers and sisters: Danny (Martina), Joseph (Candis), Benjamin (Lisa), Becky (Kirk) Smith, and Heather (David) Reynders, and many other nieces, nephews and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his brother David Kim Devenport.
The funeral services will be Friday, May 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hyde Park Stake Center. A viewing will be held Thursday May 21, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen Mortuary in North Logan and again from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday morning prior to the service at the Hyde Park Stake Center with interment following at the Hyde Park Cemetery.
