Michael Lee Meier, Sr.
North Logan--
Michael Lee Meier, Sr. passed away at his home, surrounded by family on July 21, 2014.
He was born October 22, 1944, in Somers Point, New Jersey to Mary E. Potts and Alexander R. Meier. He served in the U.S. Navy from March 30, 1966 to July 29, 1970, when he received an honorable discharge. He married Patricia Ann Cannon on December 17, 1968, in the Logan LDS Temple. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He received his Bachelor's Degree from Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia. He completed his Master's of Business Administration at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He later became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
He worked for Delta Airlines for 20 years where he held many positions, including, CPA and CFE.
He was preceded in death by his wife and eternal companion, parents, and grandparents.
He is survived by his children Michael Lee Meier, Jr. of North Logan; John Matthew Meier of Atlanta, Georgia; Rebekah Elisabeth Meier of North Logan; Adam Benjamin Meier of North Logan; Joshua David (Carrie) Meier of Hyde Park; Rachel Jennifer Meier of North Logan; and Jacob Bradley Meier of Logan. He is survived by several grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings David (Donna) Meier of DeLand, Florida; Susan (Russell) Taylor of Dewey, Arizona; and Katrina (Robert) Kirkeby of Orange, California.
Per his request, a private family service will be held. He will be interned at the Logan City Cemetery on July 23, 2014, next to his wife and eternal companion, Patricia Ann Cannon Meier.
