Michelle Nielsen Openshaw of Providence, Utah passed away on August 18th, 2023. She was born on September 21, 1984 in Logan, Utah. Michelle attended Edith Bowen Lab School, and graduated from Logan High School. She attended BYU-Idaho and received her degree in Child Development and Family Relations. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tacoma, Washington mission and grew to love the people there. Michelle loved to cook, and worked at Honeyville Farms which took her to the Phoenix area where she managed their store. She had many friends there and good experiences.
Michelle met her husband Jeffrey through his sister, Shandee in 2015. They were married June 4th, 2016 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They have two daughters, Mia (3), and Tensley (7 months), and her stepchildren Cambri (12) and Treven (13). Michelle loved her children and loved helping others. She had a heart of gold. If she was slow or late, it was often because she was helping someone. Her greatest blessings were her girls.
Michelle enjoyed playing the violin, camping and being outdoors, but mostly she loved being a Mom and a friend. She loved people and enjoyed becoming a part of their lives.
Jeffrey Openshaw and the children will continue to be supported by Michelle’s parents, Beverly and Terry of Logan, UT, and her siblings, Jay (Tara) Nielsen of Reno, NV, Julie (Lane) Matthews of St. Charles, MO, and Craig (Cait) Nielsen of NYC, and his parents, Kim and Anita Openshaw of Nibley, Damian (Sarauna) Openshaw of Nibley, Cammarie (Chad) Lowery of Hyrum, Derek (Leza) Openshaw of Smithfield, Shandee (BJ) Nelson of Montpelier, ID, Josh (Laura) Openshaw of Logan, Micah Openshaw of Hyrum, and Garet Openshaw of Nibley.
There will be a viewing on Sunday, August 20th from 6-8pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary located at 34 E. Center Street, Logan, Utah 84321. The funeral services will be Monday, August 21st at 11:00 am in the Providence, Utah Stake Center located at 180 S. 485 W. Providence, Utah 84332 with a viewing held before, starting at 10:00 am.
