Mildred Richman

January 12, 1925 — November 10, 2009

WELLSVILLE, UTAH - Mildred Poppleton Stuart Richman, 84, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother returned to her heavenly home while surrounded by family on November 10, 2009.

Mildred was born in Wellsville, Utah on January 12,1925. Her early years were spent working on the family farm with her brothers and sisters. She graduated from South Cache High School where she was a member of the marching band. On June 12, 1945 Mildred married William Lowell Richman in the Logan LDS Temple. For over fifty years she was an active member of the Gayette Club, where she and friends met monthly to share talents and stories. She has held various positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints devotedly serving those under her stewardship.

Mildred was a outstanding mother and homemaker. Over the years she has made many beautiful quilts, afghans, pillowcases, dish towels, and table cloths many or which were presented as gifts to friends and family. She was a wonderful cook and always brightened the holiday seasons with her countless batches of homemade candy.

Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones and spent many hours caring for precious grandchildren helping working moms any way she could.


Survived by her husband, William Lowell Richman,Wellsville; daughters Cheryl (Sam) Hilton, Weston, Id; Kaylene Bolton, Wellsville; Jan (Lonnie) Hall, Wellsville; and son Larry (Marla) Richman, Wellsville; brothers and sisters Roy (Helen) Stuart, Joyce Hawes, Wendell (Marsha) Stuart, Barbara (Eldon) Pierce, Gordon (Terri) Stuart, 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her loving parents Charles Parker and Clora Poppleton Stuart; brother, Charles Stuart; bother-in-law, Dale Hawes.

The family would like to thank Julie Garner and Angie Ashton from Community Nursing Service for their endless care and support during our time of need.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon at the Wellsville 4th Ward Chapel, 195 South Center Street in Wellsville. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 12 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan and from 10:30-11:30 AM prior to services on Friday at the ward building. Interment will be in the Wellsville City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
