Milton Thorpe Campbell

March 16, 1928 — April 19, 2023

Milton Thorpe Campbell, 95, passed away on April 19, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Milt was born in Providence, Utah on March 16, 1928, to Joseph Milton and Vera Thorpe Campbell. He was raised in Providence with his two brothers and two sisters.
Milt served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. After serving in Germany, he returned home and married Sharon Kerr on March 19, 1953, in the Logan Temple. They made their home in Providence, where they lived happily for almost 70 years.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in the Boy Scouts, Sunday School and various other callings.
His family operated a small farm and a milk hauling business. Eventually with his two brothers, Clyde and Del Ray, they made a transition from the dairy farm to a highly respected registered Hereford cattle operation. They took great pride in their farming practices along with the quality of the cattle that they marketed.
While working on the farm, Milt also worked for the Cache County School District. He was a bus driver for 26 years and a custodian at Mountain Crest High School for seven years. He served as president of the Providence Cattlemen’s Association and as a member of the board of directors for both the Cache Cattlemen’s Association and the Utah Hereford Association. He also worked on the Blacksmith Fork Irrigation Committee.
Milt enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, woodworking, gardening, and four-wheeling in the mountains with his friends.
Milt was a wonderful example to his family. He taught his family the importance of being honest, hardworking, kind and living the principles of the gospel. He has always been easy to talk with and his advice has always been valued.
He is survived by his loving wife Sharon; his daughters, Anne Fisher (Ted), Kayla Miller (Todd), daughter-in-law Debbie Campbell Sparrow (Marv), grandchildren, Chad Campbell (Michelle), Jake Campbell (Shaeli), Lance Campbell (Lindsay), Kiarra Miller, Zac Miller (Sadie), Sophie Miller, and Max Miller, and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sweet sister Lenore Litz and many nieces and nephews.
Milt was preceded in death by his son Joseph Campbell, brothers and sister, Clyde Campbell (Barbara), Del Ray Campbell, Ione Campbell, and parents.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Legacy House of Logan and CNS hospice for the love and care shown to Milt and Sharon during his last days.
