Kent Brenchlev Obituary
A beloved father, husband, and Grandpa, Myron Kent Brenchley at the age of 69, left this earthly existence on April 14, 2006 due to a tragic accident.
He was born on the 30th of April 1936 in Logan, Utah to Myron Hall & Evelyn Hill Brenchley.
Dad attended school at Wellsville Elementary, Wellsville Jr. High, one year at South Cache High School and graduated from Enterprise High School in 1953. He then attended Utah State University.
He served an honorable mission in the Western Canadian Vancouver Mission from 1956 to 1958. After completing his mission he married his sweetheart Ruth F. Leishman. They sealed their love in the Logan L.D.S. temple on February 61959.
He started his career at Thiokol in 1959 as a manufacturing engineer and retired after 40 years of dedicated work. In May of 1960 Dad & Mom made their home in Wellsville. Dad actively served in many church callings including a member of a bishopric, a seventy's president and ward mission leader. Currently Dad and Mom were enjoying their 6th year as temple officiators.
He was also actively involved in serving the community of Wellsville City for well over 19 years. In 1974 he served on the planning and zoning commission. Later he served on the city council 3 separate terms including 1 term as Mayor in 1982. He also enjoyed serving on the beautification committee and was instrumental in establishing the Tree City USA program for Wellsville City now in it's 22nd year.
He enjoyed contributing to his community in many countless acts of
service. Dad's selfless service to the town he loved, helped make the community a better place for all of us.
He loved being outdoors, going camping with his family, having cookouts, working with his hands and building things. One of his greatest joys was singing, he sang for over 50 years in various ward choirs. He also served as president of the Wellsville Mountaineers singing group. He especially loved his children and grandchildren and spending time with them. He was always willing to help and assist others. He never complained or tired when times became tough.
