Mondell E. Zollinger began his life on June 2, 1949 in Logan, Utah, his home of 62 years. He passed away on January 13, 2012. Born to Ezra J. Zollinger and Erma E. Schenk, Mondy was welcomed and loved by his older sisters and brother. He grew up in Logan and enjoyed playing cowboys with Craig Mortensen, Scott Cheney and his brother Jake. He graduated from Logan High in 1967 where he played varsity basketball. Mondy spent summers on the family dry farm in Hansel Valley. After working 20 yrs. for Johnson Construction, he bought the farm in 1984.
Mondy learned farm mechanics from his dad and his Uncle Gene. With his father, who became his best friend, he designed and custom built plows, drills and other implements to accommodate the Hansel Valley soil. Mondy was much loved by his nieces and nephews. As an adult he enjoyed reading history, biographies and the daily news. He was a private person whose kindness and modesty all admired.
Mondell was preceded in death by both parents, his sisters Lela May in 1960, Sue Turner in 2009 and his brother Eden in 1978. He is survived by sisters Ivanell Verselle (Richard) of Rocklin, CA; Rebecca Craner (Bob) of Soda Springs, ID; and Jake (Christine) of Murray, UT.
Services will be held at Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan (34 E. Center St.) on Sat, Jan 21 at 11:00 am, preceded by a viewing at 9:30 am. Burial will be at the Providence Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
