PARADISE - Morla Kay Welch, 72 passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 25, 2010. She was born November 4, 1937 in Mendon, Utah to Chester and Isabel Kidman.
Kay was raised in Mendon and graduated form South Cache High School before marrying her sweetheart, Harry Welch on September 24, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had two children, Mary Kaye (Mitch) Olsen and Harry (Kimberly) Welch.
Kay spent many years working at White’s Trout Farm in Paradise and then worked for Silicone Plastics, a division of Icon Health & Fitness in Logan until retiring. In her younger days, she was an avid gardener and shared with everyone in the neighborhood. She enjoyed golfing, hunting, riding snowmobiles and spending time with Family and Friends. She always loved animals and had some very special cats.
Kay was a wonderful daughter, a caring sister, a loving wife, and a “More than you could ask for Mother” and the Best Grandma anybody ever had. She loved her family very much. She also loved her neighbors and had several adopted Grandchildren in town.
She always thought of others before herself. She was always taking dinner to people in town, whether they were elderly, sick or just because. We will all miss that about Kay. She was Famous for her Shrimp making skills and finger steaks. She has taught family and many friends how prepare her specialties. She could make a meal in a seconds notice and did many times for Dad and their friends. She also enjoyed sewing and made many quilts for family and friends. Her fur quilts were her specialty.
Kay is survived by her loving husband, Harry and their children, Mary Kaye (Mitch ) Olsen and Harry (Kimberly) Welch. She is also survived by four wonderful Grandchildren, Justin Olsen, Jenny Olsen, Whitney Welch and Dallas Welch.
Also surviving are her siblings, Geraldine Maurer, Dennis Kidman, Georgia Edlund and Larry Kidman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Isabel Kidman and brother, Alvin Kidman.
Graveside services will be held at the Paradise City Cemetery at noon on Friday, January 29, 2010. Services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at
