Murray Orson Sant passed away January 16, 2015, at Logan Nursing and Rehab in Logan,
Utah of complications from pneumonia and diabetes. Murray was born April 6, 1936 to Orson Clifford and Cloie Lenora Conlin in Treasureton, Idaho. He was the fourth of six children. His family moved to Ogden Utah where he was educated, later attending Ben Lomond
High School, He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, and served from 1954-1956
Murray married Nadine Martinson in the Logan Temple August 10, 1956.
They were the proud parents of five children, Karie, Marilyn, Bradley,
Sandra and Michael. They were later divorced. He graduated from Weber
State College with a BS degree in Biology. He worked for the Utah State Fish and
Wildlife Service, and Hill Air Force Base as a Natural Resource Biologist.
He spent his later years in Ogden, Utah where he enjoyed gardening,
wood work, and traveling when his health permitted. He was a lifetime
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints where he
served many callings, his favorites being with the Boy Scouts and working
with the youth. He taught Hunter Safety for many years, was a lifetime member of the NRA, and had a deep love and respect for fire arms, nature and camping. He could name every bird,
tree, plant and insect wherever he went, Mo was a dreamer and an adventure, and had a contagious smile and laugh.
Murray was preceded in death by his Parents, his daughter Sandra Kay,
his siblings Clureen (Roland) Clingman, Naydene (Volmer) Miller, and
son in law, Jeffrey Lynn Balls.
He is survived by his children Karie (the late Jeff Balls), Marilyn
(Terrel) Huppi, Bradley (Denise) Sant and Michael (Melinda) Sant, his
sister Lois (Larry) Bachman, and brothers Blaine (the late Kaye) Sant,
and Dennis Sant. He leaves 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by his family, friends and loved ones, but all are comforted with the knowledge he is free from pain, and now enjoying the company of his loved ones who have gone before, including his beloved daughter Sandy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 12:00 noon at the Allen-Hall Mortuary located at 34 E Center Street in Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 am.
Burial will be at the Millville cemetery. Condolences and memories may
