LOGAN, UTAH:
Myrle Norton Gines passed away May 6, 2005, following an extended illness, she was 89 yrs old.
She was born in Circleville, Utah on March 4, 1916, her parents were Robert Willian Norton and Tryesha Orilla Myers Norton, she was the seventh child of a family of twelve children.
She married the love of her life, Ned L. Gines, on June 1, 1935 in Coalville, Utah. They were sealed for time and eternity on June 5, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of four children. Ned passed away September 15, 1992.
Myrle spent her childhood in Panguitch, Utah. When she was sixteen years old she moved to Provo, Utah, to live with an aunt and uncle. It was there she finished high school and met her husband-to-be. During their married life they lived in Provo, Roosevelt, and Ioka; until 1958 when they moved to Logan, Utah to a house at 1374 Maple Dr. where she lived until 2 1/2 years ago when she moved to Pioneer Valley Lodge Retirement Center.
She was always an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held positions in the MIA, Sunday School and Primary. She loved the members of the Logan 20th ward.
While Myrle lived in the Uintah Basin she started working at Ashton Brothers grocery store, then she applied for a job with First Security Bank and from December 16, 1955 until she retired 28 years later she was a loyal bank employee. She loved her work at the bank and advanced from teller, eventually becoming an operations officer.
She was an active member of several civic clubs including Lady Lions, Literary League, Beaux Arts Club and Business and Professional Women's Club.
She is survived bv Will Souza, El Dorado Hills, California; Karen Gines, Rockford, Illinois; and Jerry & Kay Gines, Sandy, Utah. She has 10 grand children and 16 great-grandchildren. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters; Howard & Betty Norton, Louise Thomas, Amy & Norm Mitchell, Jean Patrick and Melba & Ray Gerber.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and the following sister and brothers; Lena Miller, Ray Norton, Marion Norton, Douglas Norton and Don Norton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 11, 2005 at 12:00 noon in the Hillcrest 2nd Ward Chapel, 875 North 1500 East, Logan, Utah. There will be viewing at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan, Utah, on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and at the Hillcrest 2nd Ward prior to the service on May 11, 2005, from 10:30 to 11 :30 am. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
