Myrna Jean Secrist Knowles

April 6, 1946 — November 4, 2023

Logan, Utah

Myrna Jean Secrist Knowles, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023. She was surrounded by love as she was reunited with her eternal sweetheart, Ernie. Myrna was born in Logan, Utah, on April 6, 1946, to Horton and Arleva Secrist. She was the oldest of three children. During her earliest years of school, she made lifelong friends who remain by her side to this day.  Myrna grew up in Logan and went on to attend Logan High School. As a young girl, she loved to dance and that became a passion. You could find her tapping her foot every time she heard music. She also enjoyed going to the movies with her friends. It was at the theater that she met the love of her life, Ernie. Knowing they were meant to be with each other, it wasn't long before they were married on August 23, 1963, and started their life together. Fourteen years later, they were sealed in the Ogden, Utah Temple. Together they had five wonderful children - Natalie, Darrin, Brandon, Brady, and Kasey. Myrna was an amazing mother and her kids were always her first priority. She never missed a game, recital, or competition for any of her children. She made her home a safe haven for her family and kept it immaculate. There was always a home-cooked meal on the table. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities. She especially loved serving in Primary with the children. Later on, she served a service mission with Ernie at the Joseph Smith Building in Salt Lake City. Being a grandma and great-grandma was her greatest joy! She loved spoiling the grandkids and making every holiday special for them. She was very involved in their lives and supported their activities. She always looked forward to them coming to her house and always had her candy drawer well stocked for their visits. Myrna was loving, compassionate, and generous, and she would do anything to help those around her. She never wanted anything but happiness for those she loved. Myrna enjoyed traveling with her husband, family, and many friends. She enjoyed shopping, and nothing put a smile on her face like a new pair of shoes. She always looked her best and took pride in her appearance.

Myrna is survived by her five children - daughter Natalie (Jeff) Lamb, sons Darrin (Shanna) Knowles, Brandon (Jamie) Knowles, Brady (Yamel) Knowles, Kasey (Nicole) Knowles, twenty-one grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Knowles, and her parents, Horton and Arleva Secrist.
