PARADISE, UTAH: —Myrtle (Myrt) L. Lemon passed away Thursday morning, August 15, 2013 of incidents caused by age. Born February 15, 1920 in Paradise, UT, the first child of Nephi and Carrie Larsen. She has one half-sister, Leona, and three brothers, Arnold, Russell (deceased ) and Glen (deceased.). She married Charles Lewis Lemon on July 23, 1938, in Logan, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on March 27, 1964. Myrt and Lew loved to dance and spent many Saturday nights at the Elite Hall in Hyrum. He died in 1993.
Myrt was an active member of the LDS Church and was the “birthday lady” for her ward for many years, brightening the birthdays of many with a morning telephone call on their special day. She was an excellent seamstress and worked 24 years at the Mode-O-Day. She is well-known for the baby dresses and tuxedos that she made. She was an active member of the DUP Sagwich Camp.
Lewis and Myrt had four boys, Ronald (Gayla) of Providence, Boyd (Betty), Gary (Ramona) both of Hyrum, and Paul (Carolyn) of Newton. She has 15 grandchldren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 19, 2013 in the Paradise 1st - 4th Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held Sunday evening, August 18, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, and at the church prior to the services on Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 .
