Nadine Petersen Nielson was born on April 10, 1937, in Cache Valley Utah to Gladys Marie Nielsen and Collos Shade Petersen. Nadine grew up in Providence Utah. She attended school at Providence Elementary and graduated South Cache High school in 1955.
She later met F. Dwayne Nielson and they were married on September 6, 1958. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They had 5 beautiful children, Kevin, Debbie, Rex, Greg, and Rachelle. While raising their children they lived in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado while Dwayne pursued his degree.
After Dwayne’s untimely death she met and married Stanley Allen Cunningham who adopted Greg and Rachelle and took them in as his own children. Soon after they moved to Canada and continued raising the family, finally settling back in Logan.
In her spare time, she enjoyed painting ceramics, making porcelain dolls, quilting, and crocheting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially at Christmas time making gingerbread houses and caramel popcorn balls. Decorating for Christmas was her favorite thing to do and did it as soon as she could. The sooner the better.
She was preceded in death by F. Dwayne Nielson and Stanley Allen Cunningham, her parents, sister Regina (Kay) Matthews, and brother Albert Petersen.
She is survived by her children, Kevin (Anita) Nielson of Christ Church New Zealand, Debbie (Dave) Jamison of Nibley, Rex (Tressa) Nielson of Logan, Greg (Jennifer) Cunningham of Nibley, Rachelle Cunningham Sandefur of Logan, and Sister-in-law Maxine Petersen of Providence.
