Nancy Sue Allred Whipple

January 26, 1964 — March 21, 2025

Sandy, Utah

SANDY, UTAH - Nancy S. Allred-Whipple of Sandy, Utah expanded her love of travel and adventure by departing this life for the heavenly beyond. She passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 from an extended and highly confidential bout with cancer. Nancy's goal was to focus on living life fully and helping others, especially her family. She was surrounded by her immediate family and dear friends at her passing.

Nancy was born on January 26, 1964, in Burley, Idaho to Chall and Sally (Brooks) Allred. Nancy graduated from Burley High School where she eventually met her future husband, Jeff. It only took him seven years to convince Nancy to marry him in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They were married 37 years and raised three amazing children and spoiled four inquisitive grandsons.

With a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Ceramics from Brigham Young University, and Bachelor's Degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Development from Utah State University (Go Aggies!) in Logan, Utah, Nancy was a lifelong educator, artist, and student who shared her excitement for learning with students from the university level to the Nursery class at church.

A master ceramist, Nancy taught ceramics at Kimball Art Center in Park City, Utah as well as worked as an Associate Professor at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Nancy also worked as a professional caregiver and lovingly served those with special needs, limited physical abilities, as well as those suffering the effects of aging or illness.

An avid traveler with a spirit for adventure, Nancy's visited every state in the U.S. as well as dozens of countries across multiple continents, islands, and oceans. She toured hundreds (maybe millions) of museums, art galleries, historical sites, monuments, festivals, conferences, stage plays, concerts, sports stadiums, ballparks, and more.

Nancy kept a spectacular yard, orchard, and vegetable garden as well as a personal petting zoo and private playground to entertain and inspire the imaginations of her own children, grandchildren, and all of their friends. A trip to the zoo was not complete without a picnic with peanut butter sandwiches, granola bars, and oranges.

Nancy is preceded in death by her dear parents Chall and Sally Allred as well as her beloved grandparents and others.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Jeff along with their children Brooke Whipple-Larson of Sandy, Natalie Whipple-Chester (Tyler) of Loomis, California, Logan Whipple (Savannah) of Salt Lake City. Nancy has four grandsons, Oakley, Jackson, Liam, and Michael. She is also survived by her sister Mary Ann Bramhall (Tim) and her brother Howard Allred (Ann), and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family, along with many dear friends and fellow artists and adventurers.

Immediate family and friends held a small, private graveside service at the Logan, Utah City Cemetery on March 26, 2025.

For those wishing to honor Nancy, in lieu of flowers, please consider her example and plan an adventure to someplace new, visit a museum or art gallery, connect with someone who needs a hug, create something interesting, beautiful, or artistic, and/or treat yourself (and maybe a friend or loved one) to a favorite dessert! Nancy would like that.
