Nathan Kay Done

Nathan Kay Done, 82, of Providence, Utah, left his earthly home, in the early hours of Thursday, September 2, 2010, in Providence, Utah. He was born April 13, 1928 to Alice Suzanne and Nathan Done in Logan, Utah.
He attended North Cache High School where he lettered in Varsity Football, Basketball and Baseball. He led the North Cache High School Basketball team to the State Championship 1946.
He served in the Army directly after High School and was sent to Korea. While he was serving his country in Korea he was invited to play on the United States All Area Basketball team. He traveled with his team to Hawaii, Guam, Manila, Hong Kong, Okinawa and Tokyo, Japan.
Upon his return from military service he started his college education at Utah State University on an athletic scholarship earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business. While attending Utah State University he met his beautiful wife LaReta Rinderknecht. Nate and LaReta raised their six children in Salt Lake City, Colorado Springs and Littleton, Colorado. Nathan worked as an executive for Mountain Bell. He was the assistant to the Vice President over all operations in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and New Mexico. He retired after 30 years service.
He loved serving his Heavenly Father in many church callings. He served as Stake President of the Littleton, Colorado Stake, Counselor in the Denver Mission Presidency, High Counselor, Bishop, Elder’s Quorum President and various other callings.
He returned to Cache Valley to care for his ailing Mother in law, and began volunteering at the Providence City Cemetery, eventually Nate was hired as the Providence City manager then elected Mayor in 1992. He had a great love for scouting and missionary work. He and his second wife Marion served missions in Australia, and England.
Nate is survived by his children; Brenda Smith (Don), Nathan Jay Done, Barbara Miller (Scott), Robert Done (Denese), Suzanne Taylor (Clark) fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife LaReta and son Jeffery Bryan.
We will forever miss our loving father and his wonderful example.
We would like to thank his nurse, Jan Clements and Integrity Home Health & Hospice for their loving service to Nate.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in the new Providence Stake Center, 180 South 485 West in Providence. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and prior to services on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
