Nedra Jean Postma Taylor

LOGAN, UTAH: Nedra Jean Taylor , 69, passed away at her home Thursday, February 25, 2010. Nedra was born July 14, 1940 in Boise, Idaho to parents Abraham John Postma and Ornelda Adelia Gifford. She was the oldest of nine children. Her father worked as a miner in Butte, Montana and Nedra often helped her mother with her younger siblings.
Nedra married Elmer Paige at 26 years of age. They were married for twelve years until his death. She remarried on January 1, 1978 to Wesley Allan Taylor in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married for five years and had two children, Joy and Penny and Nedra raised her step-son Jack.
Nedra lost her second husband on March 18, 1984 and continued to raise her three children on her own. She obtained a masters degree in rehabilitation counseling from Utah State University and worked at Options for Independence in Logan. Nedra loved helping her community, especially in regards to the disabled. She was an avid reader and loved to do her crossword puzzles. Her constant companion in later life was her dog, Meg but her reason for living were her two granddaughters, Brianne and Celestra. Nedra had many friends who loved her for her zest for life and persistently positive attitude, no matter what life threw at her.
She was an active member of the LDS church and served in many capacities over the years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Nedra is survived by her three children Jack Taylor of Spokane, WA, Joy Anderson of Logan, and Penny Taylor of Provo; two granddaughters, and seven siblings. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Elmer Paige and Allan Taylor; parents: Abraham and Ornelda; brother: Roger; brother-in-law: George Hastie; nephew: John Hastie; and best friend: Shannon Gordon.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Logan South Stake Center, 340 West 700 South. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Mesquite Nevada Cemetery on Wednesday at 12 pm. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net
