Nelda Stockdale

Logan, Utah: Born May 15, 1927 in Preston, Idaho, to John William & Ethel Rallison Stockdale, Nelda was the fourth of five children.
Nelda attended grades 1-5 in Dayton Idaho, then 6th - 8th in North Logan, 9th at South Cache, and finally 10th- 12th at Logan High where she graduated with honors in 1945. She worked at Jensen's Candy store during her 11th grade & Ben Franklin's five and dime store during her 11th & 1ih grade. After graduation she started at First National Bank (which later became Zion's Bank) as a bookkeeper and worked her way up to Assistant Vice President in 1974. After 43 years of service with Zion's Bank she took early retirement in 1989 and enjoyed her family the rest of her life.

Nelda played softball while living in North Logan and played the clarinet with the band in High School where, while playing at the football games, she found her love of sports. She was an avid fan of the USU Aggies, the Utah Jazz, and loved watching her nieces and nephews play sports. She also enjoyed singing duets with her sister Colleen, leading and teaching music in various callings, and singing with the Town Singers for 13 years.
Nelda was an active member of the LDS church and served in many callings: including Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Chorister, Relief -Society Chorister and a member of the Stake Mutual Board.
She was preceded in death by her father & mother, two brothers: William R. Stockdale (Barbra Jensen), Howard Dee Stockdale (Ruth Skabelund), and one sister Clarice Stockdale (Jack Lannan). She is survived by one sister, Grace Colleen Stockdale, many nieces and nephews, and many, many great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the staff at both Terrace Grove and Sunshine Terrace for giving Nelda so much love, joy, compassion and respect. It has been greatly appreciated.
We would like to send special thanks for the knowledge, help, care, and total commitment given to us by CNS Hospice (Especially Alyson and Lacey). We couldn't have done it without you.
