Nita Buist Christensen

WELLSVILLE, UTAH - Nita Buist Larsen Christensen, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by family, peacefully returned to the presence of her Father in Heaven on March 3, 2009, at the age of 72.She was born May 18, 1936 to Leland and Viola Larsen. She was raised in Wellsville and attended elementary and junior high schools there. She graduated from South Cache High School. While there she met the love of her life, Owen Christensen. They were married in the Logan Temple April 20, 1956. Nita and Owen would have celebrated 53 years together next month.
Nita and Owen lived in Salt Lake City, then Providence. They bought a home in Wellsville where they raised their family.
She was employed at the Logan/Cache Knitting Mill and The Kater Shop and most recently at the Wellsville Post Office.
Nita had various jobs over the years but her favorite was raising a family.
Nita was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions during her life. She served in the Relief Society and Young Women. She spent the last years serving in the library with some of favorite people.
She is survived by her loving husband Owen. Three children, Michael (Melanie), of Wellsville; Cindy (Brian) Gardner of Wellsville; Terri (Richard ) Boudrero of Hyde Park. Siblings: Val Dean (Sandra-deceased) Larsen of Mendon; Deon (Dallas) Hall of Wellsville; Lorene (Steven) Leishman of Logan; Sharon (Dennis) Simper of Wellsville; Gary (Nancy) Larsen of Wellsville.
Nita loved her grandchildren and supported them in everything they did. She has 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Viola, a sister Ranae and a son Darrell Kim Christensen.
As per Nita’s request a graveside service for the family will be held prior to interment at the Wellsville Cemetery, Saturday March 7th at 12:00.
