Nora Kay Oyler, age 67, of Nibley, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, at her home surrounded by family and friends.
She was born November 7, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, to Franklin and Lillian Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her father Franklin Johnson, her mother Lillian Johnson, and her brother John Boyes.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Oyler of Nibley, Utah; her daughter Rose Morgan of Greensboro, North Carolina; and two sons Douglas Hoogerhyde of Jamestown, Michigan; Adam Hoogerhyde of Fort Myers, Florida; five grandchildren; her three sisters Diana Johns, Priscilla Cappon, Bonnie Bird, and many nieces and nephews.
Nora was an avid bowler, having bowled for over 15 years winning numerous trophies. She also coached kids bowling for 8 years. She loved fishing starting at the age of 8 years old. She loved ceramics and has some of her creations on the walls and other areas of her home. She also loved crocheting and taught her niece and others the art. Nora had a wonderful sense of humor, always making you wondering if what she said was serious or not. Nora was an animal lover, always had pets, which she treated like her babies. She volunteered and the humane society, before becoming a permanent employee at the Humane Society. She also referred to the 3 most dangerous words, Shoulda, Coulda and Woulda.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the Nibley 2nd Ward Chapel, 130 West 2600 South in Nibley. Condolences may be sent to the family at
