Norma Herschi
LOGAN –Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Norma Herschi, 85, passed away June 3, 2010 at LDS Hospital with her family around her.
She was born October 11, 1924 in Millville, Utah to Angus Ray and Hazel Garr Hovey.
Norma graduated from Logan High School. She married William Edward Herschi, her sweetheart of 54 years, on November 24, 1942 in Paris, Idaho. They later solemnized their marriage in the LDS Logan Temple.
She was a faithful member of the Logan 14thWard and loved to do her Visiting Teaching.
Norma worked at Wingets for 15 years, IGA for 3 years, Safeway for 21 years and Macey’s for
2 years. She was part of the Teamsters Union while at Safeway’s.
She enjoyed shopping and going to lunch at Angie’s Restaurant with her friends, whom we call “Her Posse”. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and their children. She had a sense of humor and always had something nice to say about everyone. Her smile and laughter was quite contagious.
Norma is survived by her children, Carol Ward, Logan, Utah; William Ray and Suzanne Hirschi, Sandy, Utah; Sue and Terry Barson, Logan, Utah. Also surviving her are 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Preceding her in death is her husband, her parents, her son, Grant Herschi, great-granddaughter, Kandice Hirschi, granddaughter-in-law, Becky Hirschi, son-in-law, Phil Hughes, one brother, Ray Garr Hovey, and two sisters, Eltha Reading and Bernice Wingberg.
We would like to thank Dr. Summer and staff at Logan Regional Hospital. Also thank Dr. Pearl and Dr. Tanaka and staff at LDS Hospital for the special care they showed her.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 1p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street. Family and friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment at Logan City Cemetery, 900 North 1200 East.
