Norma Smith Olsen, 89 years of age, passed away 16 November 2017 in North Logan, Utah. She was born 28 July 1928 to Seymour Bicknell and Winifred Harker Smith in Mountain View, Alberta, Canada. She at- tended schools in Mountain View, Cardston, Alberta and Provo, Utah. She graduated from Brigham Young Uni- versity High School in 1946 and went on to study at Brigham Young University where she studied music and English. In Novem- ber 1949 she was called to serve in the Canadian Mission and was released June 1951. While serving in Canada, she met her sweet- heart, Ross David Olsen. They were sealed in the Cardston, Alberta Temple on 30 August 1951. Ross and Norma would serve together in the New Mexico Albuquerque Mission from April 1989 to May 1990. Norma had many talents. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, family history, and music. She was known for her hand-dipped chocolates and beautiful wedding cakes. She was a faithful, lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She loved the temple and was grateful to serve as an ordinance worker along with her husband, Ross. She loved her homeland of Canada and her adopted country, the U.S.
She is survived by children: Gregory (Janet) Olsen, Manon (Paul) Zaluski, and Eric (Valerie) Olsen; 9 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren, brother, Frank Smith, and sister, Rose Marie Forsyth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; hus- band, Ross; brothers, Travers and Waldo; sisters, Winifred, Maxine, Betty, Eleanor and Carma and daughter, Janeen. Services will be Saturday, November 25, 2017 in the College-Young Ward Chapel, 2394 West 2200 South, Young Ward. The viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral to follow at 12:00 p.m. Internment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
