Norma Watkins

Sandy, Utah – Norma Anderson Watkins, 88, died Sunday, December 25, 2011, at home surrounded by her family. Norma was born June 21, 1923, in Wellsville to Gilbert Nathan and Mary Wyatt Anderson. She attended Wellsville schools, graduating from South Cache High School in 1941. In 1946 she met and married Derrald Lewis Watkins of Logan. She is survived by her husband of 65 years and her children, Kathy Neal of Chandler, Arizona, Kris Amussen (Rodney) of Salem, Utah, Steve Watkins of Walnut Creek, California, and Jill Bridges (Lynn) of St. George, Utah. She was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Norma enjoyed, golf, bowling, cruising, ceramics, gardening and being with her family. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings throughout her life. Norma’s outgoing and fun-loving personality and joy of life brought lifelong and loyal friends into her circle wherever she went. She loved helping people. Later in life Norma volunteered at the McKay Dee Hospital Emergency Department in Ogden for over 10 years. She received public recognition for her dedication and service to the patients and doctors. Norma loved travel, as evidenced by the six cruises and many trips throughout the country she and Wat took before and after retirement. Her suitcase was always packed and ready to go! Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, at 12:00 noon at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Internment will be at the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
