Norman Mark Bodily, a man known for his love for his family, science, history, and his sense of humor, passed away on June 17, 2024, in Glendale, Arizona, at the age of 82.
Born on July 11, 1941, in Logan, Utah, to Levi Delbert and Norma Christensen Bodily, Norman spent his youth on a farm in Lewiston, Utah, where he honed his work ethic milking cows and driving tractors. After a brief stint at Utah State, he embarked on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Germany. Upon his return, he pursued his academic interests, earning a B.S. and M.S. in Geology from Brigham Young University.
It was at BYU that Norman met his wife, Marilyn Criddle. They married in the Oakland Temple in 1971. After a few years in Colorado in the oil industry, they moved to Texas to pursue teaching careers. While teaching was a noble profession, Norman's true passion was elsewhere. He found immense joy working at the Perot Museum, where his enthusiasm for science and history made him a natural and entertaining presence.
Those who knew Norman will cherish his positive attitude and kind spirit. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Marilyn, his brother David, and a daughter, Cynthia Christine. He leaves behind a loving family, including children Jeffrey, Sindy (Chris), Spencer (Pa), Kim (Antonio), and eleven grandchildren.
A viewing for family and friends will be held at Allen Mortuaries (34 E. Center St, Logan, UT 84321) on July 5, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. A brief graveside dedication will take place immediately after the service at Lewiston City Cemetery.
