Norman Burt Christensen

PROVIDENCE, UTAH - Norman Burt Christensen, 79, passed away on December 1st 2009 at Logan Regional Hospital . He was born in Brigham City , Utah on Sept 15th, 1930 to Norman C. Christensen and Afton Roundy.

Norman graduated from Box Eder High School in 1948. While attending Utah State University , Norm was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was passionate about art and design which made him a popular float designer and ice sculpture winner. While studying to become an art teacher, he discovered his personal art medium: FLOWERS. He married the love of his life, Belva Andersen, on July 2, 1952 in the Logan Utah Temple . They ran a fruit stand together in Perry and eventually opened Norman ’s Floral Arts in Salt Lake City followed by The Greenhouse in San Francisco . Whatever the occasion, Norm was well known for his ability to create just the right look. While residing in Walnut Creek , California , he served as Elder’s Quorum President and Bishopric counselor. He was especially proud of his volunteer service providing magnificent flowers for several LDS temples as well as the Conference Center and church buildings in his Providence , Utah Stake. Norm is survived by two daughters, Lisa Christensen of Logan and Cristina Lawrence (Paul) of Kaysville and grandchildren Melissa, Britton, Wyatt, Courtney, Sheridan, Ethan and Christian.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Pat and his wife of 53 years, Belva.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 6th at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan from 6 to 8 pm in the evening. Funeral Services will be Monday, Dec 7th at the Foxridge Ward Chapel, 155 N. 100 E. Providence, at 12:00 noon. A viewing will proceed the funeral from 10:30 to 11:30. Interment will be at the Brigham City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
