Our father, brother, and grandfather died July 1, 2012 in Logan, Utah.

Norris Foster Reese was born March 7, 1927 to Inid Funk Reese and Foster Steele Reese in Benson, Utah. He was the eldest of five children; Ross, Dallin, Lee, and Carol Ann. In his early years he helped on his parent’s farm; milking the cows, feeding livestock and mowing hay. He had many fond memories and stories of those days. On his 18th birthday he joined the Navy Seabees and was deployed to the South Pacific during WWII. He was proud to serve his country in Guam. Upon his return in 1946, he married Gloria Rose Thain in Salt Lake City. They had two daughters; Kliss and Sherry. They were later divorced. He spent many years working in Cache Valley. He loved participating in service organizations and was a member of the American Legion and the Rotary Club. In 1974 he married Ethel Mae Hugie and they moved to Rexburg, Idaho where he worked with his brother Ross for Reese Realty. Later he and Ethel Mae moved to in St. George, Utah where they officiated in the St. George Temple for 34 years.

He was preceded in death by Ethel Mae and Gloria. He is survived by his and Ethel Mae’s combined four children: Sherry (Marlow) Roberts, Kliss (Maria) McNeel, Marilyn Taylor, and Steve (Denise) Willmore; granddaughters, Amber Rose (Dave) McNeel, Natalie (John) Bostock, and Amber Leigh (Shane) McMillan; grandsons, Kelly (Dyana) Roberts, Reese (Paula) McNeel, Tyler (Kelli) Roberts, Vance (Jill) Roberts, and Terry Willmore; and 20 great-grandchildren; brothers: Ross Reese, Dallin (Arlene) Reese, and Lee (D’On) Reese: and his sister Carol Ann Spackman.

Norris will be remembered for his quick wit and love of storytelling.

Over the last year he has resided at Legacy House in Logan. The family would like to give many thanks and appreciation to Legacy House for their kind care and also to his hospice nurse Jeremy from Encompass Home Health.
