Nyals Stanton Bodine

January 21, 1982 — March 20, 2016

The world became a little dimmer when Nyals Stanton Bodine, age 34, of North Logan, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, along with his mother, Jan Tingey. Nyals was born to Jay Bodine and Jan Tingey on January 21, 1982, in Price, Utah. He grew up in Cache Valley where he attended school and made many life-long friends.
Nyals had a special light about him. His down-to-earth nature, sweet personality, big heart, and total acceptance of others drew people to him. Nyals was known and loved by many individuals throughout the valley. He collected friends from every walk of life. Nyals worked at Lee’s Marketplace, with wonderful people who embraced him and enjoyed working along side him. He was a dear friend to everyone who came into the store. He loved his work, but also loved to play. His other passions were BYU sports, the Carbon High School Dinos, and above all else, the Smithfield Blue Sox baseball team. Nyals served as the equipment manager, bat boy, and good will ambassador for the Blue Sox and was their biggest fan. He recruited many shoppers at Lee’s to attend the games and support the team. The members of the Blue Sox were his heroes and he loved and cared about each one of them. Nyals also enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, riding his scooter on good-weather days, and singing, especially in the church choir. His passing leaves a void for all who knew him.
Nyals, and his sweet and precious mother, Jan Tingey, were reunited with his sister Amanda Bodine, his grandmother Carol Durrant and grandfather Bob Nielson. Nyals is survived by his father, Jay Bodine (Heber), loving step-father Jeff Tingey (North Logan), step-father Roy Leonard (Smithfield); a sister, Samantha Leonard Moore (Justin); brothers, Travis (Jen) Tingey, Brett (Emily) Tingey. He is also survived by a grandfather, Wilford Durrant, grandmothers Lawella Nielson and Lala Hatch, special friend Andrea Leafty, as well as many caring aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the North Logan Stake Center located at 2750 North 800 East, North Logan, Utah at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held at the same location Monday evening, March 28, 2016, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the church from 9:00 – 10:30 AM before the funeral services.
Interment will be in the Wellington Utah Cemetery on Wednesday March 30, 2016 at 12:00pm
