Opal Ann Jenson Naylor

August 3, 1917 — April 4, 2010

Opal Ann Jenson Naylor passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010. She was born August 30, 1917 in Millville, Utah. She lived in Millville until she married Albert Naylor on June 15, 1935. Their marriage was solemnized three years later in the Logan LDS temple on June 15, 1938. They lived together in Providence until about 10 years after Albert’s death. She then moved to Clinton Utah to live with her son Ralph (Mary) Naylor. She loved living there and was well cared for. She spent the last two years of her life at Sunshine Terrance in Logan, UT.
Mother received her education in Cache Valley, graduating from Millville elementary, and South Cache High School. She was active in drama and speech.
Mother worked at Del Monte as a supervisor for many years. She also worked with her mother and daughter at the Bluebird for several years. She also worked for Gosner Cheese until she decided to retire.
Mother served with her husband as an officer in the Geological Society of Cache Valley. Albert and Opal loved to traveled the country with family and friends.
Mother loved to sew, making most of her children's clothing. She did beautiful embroidery work. She made many beautiful quilts that she gave to her children and grandchildren … keeping none for herself. Mother made beautiful loom rugs out of old clothing never wasting any material. She was well known for her chocolates, pies, and candy. Mother loved to sing both in her church and as a group with her sister and with others.
Mother was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in the Primary, Mutual, and Scouting organizations for many years. She was a Relief Society visiting teacher until her health limited her activities. She loved the Gospel and shared her love of the Lord with her family and many friends.
Mother is survived by her brother, John Moroe Jenson, Millville, UT, her five children: Betty Ann (Melvin) Bayliff of Logan, UT, Barbara Lue (Fred) Cooper of Harrisville, UT, MaRee (Jeremy) Smith of Providence, UT, Albert Ralph (Mary) Naylor of Clinton, UT, John Terry (Wendi) Naylor of Providence, UT, 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Mother was preceded in death by her husband Albert Naylor, her parents John Martin and Merle Garr Jenson, one sister Rhea Jenson Larson, one grandson Benjamin Lee Naylor and one great granddaughter Kristin Cooper.
Mother was always pleasant and fun to be around. She enjoyed participating in various activities and always had a wonderful smile. We will miss her greatly.
The family wishes a special thanks to the fine caregivers at the Sunshine Terrace.
Viewing will be Wednesday April 7th from 6-8 PM at Allen Hall Mortuary (34 E Center St Logan, UT). Funeral services will be held in the LDS chapel at 355 Canyon Road, Providence, UT on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM … viewing from 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery.
