Pamra A. Smith

December 29, 1953 — August 28, 2023

Logan, Utah

Mom passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 in Logan, Utah from uterine cancer.  Mom had a great life that began December 29, 1953.  She was born in Logan to Frank Delwyn and Vendalin Myler Apgood.  She was the youngest of four children and enjoyed growing up in Clarkston with her brothers and sister.

Mom attended and graduated from Sky View High School in 1972.  After high school she moved to Rexburg, Idaho and attended and graduated from Ricks College.  She then moved to Provo, Utah to attend BYU.  It was there a couple of her friends introduced her to their brother, Bill Smith.  They were married in Clarkston, Utah on March 5, 1976, after Mom graduated from BYU and Dad finished his service with the Navy. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

They spent the first few years of their marriage in Oregon, then moved to Montana, where they spent nearly 42 years. They raised their three children (Billy, Marci, and Tony) in Colstrip, Montana.  After moving several times, they spent 15 years in Deer Lodge, Montana. In Deer Lodge, Mom was able to spend a lot of time with four of her grandchildren.  She loved babysitting, reading to them, and attending their activities. Her family meant everything to her.

Mom and Dad moved to Logan, Utah in 2021. While in Logan, they lived at Williamsburg Independent Living.  Mom talked to everyone and made them feel loved and special.  She loved the activities and socializing with others there.  Bingo, the auction, and the monthly store were activities she would never miss.  She had many friends come and see her just before she passed so they could tell her how much they loved her.

She loved being a stay-at-home mom.  She also babysat in her home. Mom loved those children as if they were her own.  She was a preschool teacher for several years and also worked with adults with developmental disabilities.  Wherever she worked, she loved those whom she came in contact with, whether it was co-workers, clients, or children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry Apgood, and sister Sharlene Apgood.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Smith, son Billy (Cassi) Smith of Deer Lodge, Montana, daughter Marci (Andy) Medina of Logan, Utah, and son Tony (Amanda) Smith of Millville, Utah; Six treasured grandchildren: Tristan (Hadlee), Tucker, Cole, Tate, Tessa, and Chase.

She is also survived by her brother Mark (Sharon) Apgood of Beaver Dam, Arizona and sister-in-law Valene Apgood of Clarkston, Utah.

Words cannot describe how much Mom will be missed.  She has been a true Christ-like example of love, forgiveness, strength, and acceptance.

We wish to thank the staff of Williamsburg and Atlas Home Health Care and Hospice for the amazing way they cared for Mom throughout her stay at Williamsburg and while on hospice.
