Parma Dene Hepworth Kendrick 90, of Hyrum, Utah formerly from Logan, passed away Monday June 3,2024 from complications of Dementia.
Parma was born June 6,1933 in Wendell, Idaho To Riley Hepworth and Ethel Ericksen Hepworth. She was born premature weighing approx. 2.5 lbs.
Her mother died 3 weeks later from complications of Kidney disease.
Riley married Willa Campbell in 1934. Parma was the oldest of 8 children . Arlene Clark, Raymond Hepworth (deceased), Carol Hoskins, Dee Hepworth (deceased), Robert Hepworth (deceased), Ronald Hepworth (deceased), Larry Hepworth.
Parma grew up on the family farm in Jerome, Id. they later moved to Filer Id and continued to farm. There she lived until she met NeVear Melvin Kendrick in 1950 at a birthday party hosted by her parents for an aunt.
Mel and Parma were married in the Logan Temple Sept. 28,1950 . They were blessed with 5 children. Doyle Melvin Kendrick (deceased), Jerry Dean (Laurie) Kendrick Grace, Id., LaDawn (Richard) Salvesen Hyrum, Ut, Keith NeVear Kendrick (deceased), Scott (Tamera) Kendrick Smithfield, Ut. 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Mel and Parma spent several years working construction traveling with the job, farming in Paradise, Ut and also in Twin Falls Id. Back to Ut were they both worked for Tri-Miller meat Packing living in Wellsville, later moved to Logan to care for Mel’s mother. She then worked for Logan School District then Logan LDS Temple, from which she retired.
Parma loved to garden, hand embroidery, scrape booking, genealogy and taking road trips. She loved the mountains and all wildlife with a special love for Deer and Humming Birds. Most of all she loved being a mother then grandmother.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many positions. She had a strong personal testimony of her savior Jesus Christ.
At the time of her death she was living with her daughter and fought a valent battle with Dementia never losing her grace and dignity, right to the very end she had gratitude for whatever was being done for her. On Thursday June 6, wish her a Happy heavenly 91st Birthday and enjoy a treat for her..
Parma was preceded in death by her husband NeVear (Mel), her parents, 4 brothers, 2 sons, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday June 7 at Allen Hall Mortuary, Viewing from 10:00 – 11:30. Services to follow at 12:00 Allen Hall . burial: Providence City Cemetery.
