PARADISE, UTAH: Pauline VanAlfen Thomas, 74, passed
away Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Sunshine Terrace,
Logan, Utah.
She was born on August 3, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to John
and Pauline Herbert VanAlfen. She married Joseph Earl
Thomas on January 20, 1955 in the Salt Lake City LDS
Temple.
Pauline was raised in Ogden along with her eight
brothers and sisters. She graduated from Ogden High
School and worked with her Father at their family real
estate office. She moved to North Ogden with her
husband, Earl where she raised three children. In 1967
the family moved to Paradise, UT.
She was a wonderful wife and mother devoting much of
her time to her husband and making sure her children
were cared for. She was active in various church
responsibilities such as Primary teacher and
Presidency, Relief Society Presidency and scouting.
Her Hobbies include: Genealogy, sewing, quilting and
crafts. Her greatest joys were spending time with her
husband and family as well as celebrating the
holidays.
She is survived by her son, Scot (Trina) Thomas of
Providence; and a daughter, Cindy Wheeler of Preston,
ID. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, two
great grand children, and seven siblings. She was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl
and eldest son, Earl Lee Thomas. Funeral services will
be held at noon on Saturday, January 7,2006 at the
Paradise 2nd Ward Chapel, 9060 S. 200 W. Paradise, UT.
A viewing will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on
Friday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan
and from 10:30 - 11 :30 a.m. on Saturday prior to the
services at the church. Interment will be at the
Paradise Cemetery.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to
Dr. Ed Redd and the Sunshine Terrace Foundation for
mom's care during the last few years.
