Paul Kirby Jorgensen

August 25, 1918 — February 22, 2009

“Together Again”
Hyde Park, Utah
Paul Kirby Jorgensen 90 passed away February 22, 2009. He left this world to join his lifelong sweetheart and companion, Lillian. As they walked hand in hand through this live, we are sure they are now embracing and holding hands in Heaven.
Paul was born on August 25, 1918 in Lewiston, Utah. The youngest son of Nephi and Alice Kirby Jorgensen.
He married his “sweetheart” Lillian McCann on April 21, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple. They shared 67 wonderful years together. Their lives were dedicated to each other and their families and friends.
Paul grew up in Lewiston and Smithfield, He graduated from North Cache High School, where he played football, basketball and track were he set a long-standing record in high jump.
Several years were spent working at the Stock Valley Ranch in Treasureton, Idaho. Life and activities there were some of his fondest memories. For a number of years Paul was a foreman for Hall’s Sheep Company in Rupert, Idaho. Later he became a truck driver for Clearfield Cheese Company until his retirement.
Paul was an avid fisherman and rock hound, cutting and polishing rocks and creating jewelry, belt buckles and ties giving them to all of his friends. He served as President of the Cache Geological and Archeology society. He enjoyed traveling and visiting his many friends. Paul moved to the Pioneer Valley Lodge after Lillian’s passing, there he was pleasantly surprised to be reacquainted with several childhood friends giving them the opportunity to renew their friendships and reminisce of better times.
Paul is survived by several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian who passed away January 31, 2007 and by his Parents, 2 brothers Carl and Ross and 2 sisters Alda and Hattie.
My dear friend and Great Uncle grew up in cache valley having many experiences that he loved to share with others, so many great stories of Life. Paul will be dearly missed by many and will live long in the memories of family and friends. If you ever had the privilege to visit Paul and Lillian you probably left with a gift, something they had made, a faceted gem belt buckle or tie.

Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awake in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.
