Pearl Mendelkow, age 87, passed away January 28,2007,
at Sunshine Terrace.
She was born April 17, 1919, and lived her entire life
in Providence, Utah. She was one of fifteen children
born to Franz and Augusta Wagner Mendelkow, immigrants
from Germany who settled first in Canada. She
graduated from the eighth grade at Providence School,
was a stock room clerk at J. C. Penney and worked at
Deseret Industries. Pearl was a wonderful homemaker
and loved German cooking. She is remembered especially
for her stollen, rice pudding, and cream puffs. She
was a member of the Providence Second Ward, Church of
Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.
After the death of her father, Pearl lived with her
brother, Clarence, for 40 years.
She is survived by one sister, Phyllis Nebeker, who
has cared for her the past eight years, and by
numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately called
her "Peach".
A family viewing will be held at noon on Wednesday,
January 31,2007, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan. Burial will be at 1:00 PM in the
Providence City Cemetery.
