Phil Gibbs Maughan

WELLSVILLE, UTAH: Phil Gibbs Maughan, 54, passed away in his sleep and returned to his heavenly home on September 10, 2011. Phil was the third son born to Francis Jay and Lola Mae Gibbs Maughan on April 30, 1957. Phil graduated from Sky View High and then went to work in the auto body trade. He worked in various auto body shops, and his own shop, Rocky Mtn. Auto body for nineteen years. He was employed with JBS for the past fifteen years in the maintenance department. Phil loved the outdoors. He loved going fly fishing, hunting and camping with his dad, brothers and sister, children and friends. Phil loved his horses and loved going on horse rides. He married Jan Richman on July 30 1976. They had three children together, later divorced, but remained good friends. Phil has had a great love and companionship with Kim McBride for the past several years. Phil is survived by his children JayDee (Courtnee) Maughan, Jeremiah (Brook) Maughan and Annie Maughan, his sister Kristi (Tim) Spencer, his brothers Kevin (Brenda) Maughan, Jasen Maughan, and his 6 grandchildren. Phil was preceded in death by his parents Jay and Lola Maughan, a niece Stacy Maughan, and a granddaughter Jordan Maughan. Dad we love you, happy trails, leave some big fish for Kevin and we will miss you. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at noon at the Wellsville Cemetery. A viewing will be held 6 to 8pm on Wednesday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan and prior to the services on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the Wellsville 3rd/4th Ward Church 195 S.
