Phyllis Bird

March 26, 1927 — August 8, 2011

Beloved mother and grandmother Phyllis Belliston Bird passed away peacefully August 8, 2011 at her home in Logan, Utah with family members by her side.

She was born March 26, 1927 in Payson, Utah to Leonard Foster and Pearl Elizabeth Price Belliston. After graduating from Juab High School in Nephi she married James Edward Bird March 1, 1946 in the Manti LDS temple.

She was a devoted member of the LDS church and enjoyed serving in many capacities through her years including missionary service with her husband in the Jackson, Mississippi Mission.

Phyllis is the proud mother of eight children: Deanne (Gary) Rawlings of Idaho Falls Idaho, Merrill (Tacy) Bird of Logan, Carol (Jay) Cowley of Benson, Gordon (Shelley) Bird of Smithfield, Sharon Bird of Logan, Eileen (Steve) Jensen of Logan, Joan (Jim) Bradley of Nibley, and Connie (Bob) Whittaker of Lewiston. She was also very proud of her 31 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, (1 on the way) and 3 great-great-grandchildren (1 on the way).

She was preceded in death by daughters Deanne and Sharon; son, Gordon; and husband, James.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and prior to services on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
