LOGAN, UTAH: Rachel Reese Jorgensen Harris, 90, passed away surrounded by her family, February 7, 2010 in Logan Utah.
Born, May 30, 1919 in Logan, Utah, to Joseph Christian Jorgensen and Jane Ann Reese. She was the youngest of five brothers and one sister. Rachel grew up on the family farm in Benson where she loved to ride horses.
Rachel attended the Riverside grade school in Benson, the North Cache Junior High and graduated from Logan High School. During her life Rachel worked at Del Monte, The Blue Bird, Sunshine Terrace and Wurlitzers. Rachel was very active in the LDS church serving in the Scouts, as Primary and Relief Society Secretary, visiting teacher, visiting teacher supervisor, and for 18 years she did extractions which she really loved. She has lived in Benson, Smithfield, Millville, and Logan.
Rachel married Aldon Lamont Harris on August 25 1937, they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple.
Rachel is survived by six sons and one daughter, Roger and Sheryl Harris of Anehiem, Calif.; Phil and Sallie Harris of Redding Calif.; Robert and Shonie Harris
of River Heights; Joseph Craig Harris of Semi Valley, Calif,; Rickey and Donna Harris of Nib ley; Eddie and Peggy Harris of Preston; and Rocky and Tamra Tornberg of Magnolia, Texas. Rachel has 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 4 greatgreat-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband Aldon Harris, brothers Milton, Earl, Reese, Elvin and Lenus and her sister Leah.
Rachel was a good friend to many. Her home was always open to anyone. Her love, compassion and friendship were felt by all that knew her. She always had a listening ear but never judged. She has been a blessing and example to her family and will be greatly missed. SHE WAS AN ANGEL ON EARTH.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday February 11,2010 in the Logan 16th Ward chapel at 125 West 600 North. There will be a viewing Wednesday, February 10,2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Allen- Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan, Utah. There will also be a viewing prior to the services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. that morning at the church. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at
