RaLee Eck, 44, was welcomed into heaven after passing quietly in her home on the evening of Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
She was born April 9, 1973, in Logan, Utah, to Glen and Kathy Lucherini. Being the youngest of six children, she spent much of her childhood living on Highland Drive in the city of North Logan. She grew into a beautiful and strong young woman, participating in many extracurricular events, including DECA and Cross Country. Following her successes, she eventually graduated from Sky View High School and the LDS Seminary in 1991.
One of her favorite hobbies was skiing at Beaver Mountain, which is where she met her sweetheart, J. Kirk Eck. After an 18-month courtship, the two were married in the Logan Temple on July 7, 1992. In the first years of marriage, she attended both Utah State University and Weber State University where she graduated in 1997 and obtained her license as a registered nurse. She worked for many years for IHC at the Logan Hospital and Treehouse Pediatrics, gaining many fond memories and dear friendships.
Upon graduation, she and Kirk settled in Smithfield, where they have raised their four children: Karlee, Colton, Joey, and TJ. She was an exceptional mother, completely dedicating her life to serving her family and beloved children.
In addition to balancing responsibilities at home, she ran, with rare exceptions, every single day. Her hobby of running in the early morning gave her great joy, only surpassed by the joy she experienced being a mother. She completed her first marathon in the late 90’s, catapulting her running career in which she finished a total of 44 marathon races, the last in October of this year.
RaLee was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings such as ward organist, choir director, Young Women advisor, Primary worker, and Relief Society Counselor. She gained many bonds and friendships from her Christlike service in the Church, especially recently in the Relief Society, and her influence was far-reaching. She is known for her Christlike ability to recognize and appreciate the little things, as well as having the ability to comfort others by knowing exactly what to say.
Her mother, Kathy Lucherini, survives RaLee, as well as her siblings, Lonnie (Mary) Lucherini, Monte (Alice) Lucherini, LynAnn Smith, Todd (Suzanne), her beloved husband Kirk, and her four precious children. She is preceded in death by her father, Glen Lucherini, and her brother, Rob Lucherini.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, November 20th, at the LDS Church located at 600 East 120 South in Smithfield. Viewings will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 19th, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, located at 34 East Center Street in Logan, as well as prior to the funeral occurring from 10:30 to 11:30 at the aforementioned Smithfield Chapel.
