LOGAN--Ralph Pond Dunn passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at home. He was born September 21, 1929, to Clifford E. and Teressa Pond Dunn, in Brigham City, Utah.
Ralph attended school in Logan, graduating from Logan High. He also attended Utah State University. During his high school years, he found his passion for people and being in front of an audience.
On September 16, 1950, he married Jackie Misener. Together, they built and designed their home early in their marriage, and have resided there ever since.
Ralph was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a dedicated home teacher until December of last year.
He worked at the family business, the Hi-Way Market, selling groceries, cutting meat, and taking great pride in working with the public. He knew all of his customers personally and they became lifelong friends. After the Hi-Way market closed, he continued his career as a butcher working in numerous grocery stores throughout Cache Valley. In the early 1970s, he
purchased Rex Distributing, selling jerky and candy throughout Utah and Wyoming. Big box stores forced the closure of this business, which lead him to auto sales in Cache Valley. He enjoyed being around his fellow co- workers and customers so much that he continued his career to the age of 84.
Ralph and Jackie raised two children together. Scott was a great musician and shared a passion for baseball with his dad. Patty was an accomplished tennis player and loved traveling with her biggest supporter, her dad, to all of the tournaments.
