Ramon Godfrey

November 29, 1938 — December 28, 2012

CLARKSTON-After a hard fought battle with cancer, Ramon Allen Godfrey, 74, passed away at his home December 28, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born in Logan, Utah, November 29, 1938, to John Harold and Inez Olive Goodey Godfrey. He married Marlene Butler March 18, 1957 in the Logan LDS Temple. He graduated from North Cache High school in 1956. He retired from Thiokol after more than 37 years of service. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed playing softball, basketball and always enjoyed a good game on TV. He loved to hunt and fish and wondered why it didn’t pay better. He spent his later years serving those around him. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by wife Marlene, two sons, Reed (Shannah) Godfrey, Independence MO; Duane (Vicki) Godfrey, Tremonton, UT; daughter, Jolene (Courtney)Ricks, Clarkston, UT; 28 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two brothers Jay (Evelyn) Godfrey, San Dimas CA; John Vanoy (Bonnie) Godfrey, Smithfield, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Nedra, Beverly and Velda Mae, and two brothers: Roland and Delece.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Clarkston LDS Church at 12:00 Noon Friends may call on January 2, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Allen Hall Mortuary 34 East Center Street and 10:30 to 11:30 am preceding the funeral at the Clarkston LDS Church. Interment will be in the Clarkston City Cemetery.
