Ray Taylor

Ray Orvin Taylor passed away peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by his family. Ray was born on August, 6, 1921, to Ethel and Oliver Taylor in Mendon, UT. He was the baby of the four boys born just 5 minutes after his twin brother Ralph. After his graduation from South Cache High School he served a mission for the LDS Church in the Western States Mission. On January 28, 1944, the month after his return from his mission, he married EllaRee Frank in the Logan Temple. Shortly after their marriage, he was drafted into the Marine Corps where he served in the South Pacific during WWII. When he returned from his Marine Corps service, Ray and EllaRee moved to Klamath Falls, OR, to pursue a job opportunity. They were transferred, to Vancouver, WA, where they lived for 40 years. Ray retired in 1982 and returned to live in Mendon to share the duties of caring for his aging father, Oliver, with his brother Fred. Following Oliver’s passing, Ray and EllaRee built their current home and have continued to live in Mendon ever since. Ray is survived by his wife EllaRee, his three children Kathy Roberts (Ken), Gordon Taylor (Mary Jo), and John Taylor (Pam), eight grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday October 22, 2011 at 12:00 Noon in the Mendon LDS Stake Center, 460 South 100 East. Friends may call at the Stake Center on Saturday morning from 10:30am till 11:45am. Interment will be in the Mendon City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
