Beloved Father, Grandfather and friend, Raymond Loye Oldham (88) passed away peacefully on Nov 4th 2023 to return to the open arms of his Heavenly Father, and his earthly parents, brother and sisters.
 
Ray was born in Paradise, Utah on May 29, 1935 and was welcomed into the family by one brother and three older sisters. He spent most of his childhood growing up in Cache Valley. He graduated from Logan High School and immediately enlisted in the United States Army Reserves. He served for two years in the active reserve and was stationed at Fort Huachuca in Arizona. He also served for 7 additional years as a standby reservist and was honorably discharged on July 31, 1963.
 
After returning home from his active service, he worked at Logan Golf and Country Club with His father Russell Oldham and brother Bus as ground keepers. The Oldham name was well known in the valley and a plaque was placed on a bridge at the Country Club in Honor of the Oldham Family that had kept the golf course in top shape for many years. 
 
In 1957 Ray met and fell in love with a sweet young lady from Smithfield, Utah, Lorna Hansen. They were later Married on August 2, 1957, and the marriage was later solemnized In the Logan LDS Temple on July 28th 1964. They lived in Salt Lake City where Ray worked for Stravile Patterson, later moved to Ogden to work for Marquardt Aircraft. While in Ogden, Ray joined the Ogden City Police Reserves which piqued his interest in police work. In 1961 he applied for an officer position with Logan City Police Department, and fater attending the Police Academy, he joined the Logan City Police Department and served honorably for 26 years from Dec 11, 1961 to Dec 18th 1987.  
 
During his marriage to Lorna, they had 4 children. Two boys and two girls. Troy Oldham in 1965, Debra in 1967, Jason in 1974 and Andrea in 1979. He built a beautiful home for his family on the east bench in Logan and they lived there until his retirement from the police force. In 1986 his marriage with Lorna ended but they remained close to each other for the past 37 years. 
 
Ray lived in Ivans, Utah for several years until health issues moved back to Wellesville where he could live closer to his sons. In his later years, Ray struggled with Alzheimer’s and went into assisted living in April of 2023, where he passed peacefully at Birch Creek Assisted Living.
 
Ray is survived by his 4 children and 16 Grand Children. Troy Oldham (Anita) and their 4 children. Debbie Rettew (Dean) and their 3 children, Jason Oldham and his 5 Children, and Andrea Hutchison (Nate) and their 3 children, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Russell Oldham. His brother Russel (Buss) Oldham, his three Sisters; Shirley, Joyce, and Dee, as well as one granddaughter, Sierria Iris Hutchison.
 
Rays Funeral Services will be held the day before Veterans Day, Friday November 10th at 12 noon at Allen Hall Mortuary, followed by a graveside dedication at Logan City Cemetery immediately after the services. There will also be a private family viewing at 11:00am the same day.
