Reed Wight Crook, after years of health issues, passed peacefully March 26 at 8:00 pm. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by three brothers and their spouses, and by two sisters, one brother-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and even more great-nieces and nephews.
Reed had an insatiable love for learning and was always seeking more knowledge and understanding.
He had a master’s degree and a doctorate degree in Botany and was truly a life-long learner. His greatest passions were nature, plants, and photography, which he combined for teaching and art.
Over the past seven years Reed has suffered numerous health issues that greatly impacted his mobility. In spite of that, he faced life with hope and optimism. He rarely got discouraged and kept doing all that he could to visit family, be out in nature, and use his skills as a photographer.
One of his greatest loves was visiting family and spending time with them. He loved to share his knowledge and tell of unique experiences, especially in nature. He loved the time visiting, playing games, and just chatting with those he loved.
Reed has always been active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Argentina and held many positions in the Church. His favorite position was teaching the gospel. His knowledge and understanding of the gospel and his natural teaching ability were greatly appreciated by many.
While we as family will miss him we are grateful that he passed peacefully and we are happy for him because now he is with his parents and brother and he can roam heavenly mountains and meadows.
